According to the chairman of the Fraud Advisory Panel's Cybercrime Working Group there is the possibility that data can be taken from the memory of a photocopier. Files sent to a printer's memory ready for printing including attachments can and do get stored, thus if a photocopier is destined for disposal then along goes potentially sensitive data too.

Follow this link to read the article and watch the clip and consider whether you should take additional measures to protect your data.

More modern copiers are also basically computers and so, as with a computer on a network, can be compromised.

Therefore by way of advice ensure data is inaccessible, clear the memory, secure network connections, change panel passwords and if possible destroy or wipe the hard drive/memory.
